eXe (eLearning XHTML editor) is a FREE authoring tool that enables practitioners to publish web content without the need to become proficient in HTML (HyperText Markup Language) An added bonus is that the content generated, using eXe, can be imported into any Learning Management System, as SCORM packages (Sharable Content Object Reference Model - a collection of standards and specifications for web-based eLearning). It allows practitioners to... 1: provide engaging web-based activities that stimulate learning and help learners to retain concepts; 2: open up a more extensive and appropriate range of options for learners; 3: provide learners with tools to produce ePortfolios and 4: develop 'learning objects' that can enliven factual information, support different learning styles and enable self assessment. This User Manual has been developed, by John Dalziel eLearning Adviser (ACL/PCDL), to support practitioners who wish to use eXe to produce interactive Learning Objects and/or Learners using eXe to produce ePortfolios.
