RSC Services are currently only available to learning providers that have been identified by the JISC and the funding councils. Please check whether your organisation is eligible for support.

Advice and Guidance

eProgress Review - The eProgress Review service is now being offered by many Regional Support Centres across the UK.  The service comprises of a formal evaluation of eLearning capability within the organisation, report back and further support  if requested. 

Network Management - eLearning is fraught with challenges.  The RSC is able to facilitate help and support either directly or by calling upon a range of partners and other experienced colleagues or experts.

Learning Resources - There are a vast number of eLearning resources available.  The RSC will provide guidance to locating appropriate resources, for all subject areas, and will, if appropriate, provide advice and training on how to use learning resources effectively.

Accessibility - The developments of ICT in learning and teaching provides many opportunities to remove barriers, and eLearning technologies offer solutions to many of the accessibility issues students may have experienced in the past.

Teaching and Learning - eLearning Advisers are available for consultation on a range of topics to support the innovative use of information and learning technologies to enhance teaching and learning.

Staff Development - Investment in a skilled workforce through continual professional development is essential for the successful organisation.  This section of our website will provide you with advice and guidance on a wide range of topics, and will provide resources in a range of formats to support the delivery of training and support for staff engaged in teaching or supporting the learning of students.

Management and Strategy - There are many challenges faced by managers in education today and it can be difficult to navigate the many hurdles associated with managing and leading an organisation. Regional Support Centres provide access to trusted sources of advice and guidance on a range of issues including strategy development, legislative issues, advances in educational technologies, cultural change and leadership issues etc... 

Training and Staff Development

Adviser Visits -  Members of the RSC team regularly visit Learning Providers within the Northwest to provide e-learning advice, guidance and informal staff development.

Forums - The RSC Northwest supports and facilitates, where required, sub-regional forums which are freely available to colleagues employed within supported Learning Providers within the region. About the RSC Supported Forums

RSC NW Moodle - The RSC Northwest Moodle provides access to online courses, workshop material and the online presence of some supported sub-regional forums.  Access Moodle

Workshops - Throughout the year the RSC provides a range of cost-effective staff development workshops focussing on a range of topics.  Details are available in the monthly eMagazine, through this website or via our e-mailing list.  Upcoming Workshops

Annual Conference - The highlight of the RSC's year is the Annual Conference.  Over 200 attendees, a large eLearning focussed exhibition, national keynote speakers, loads of seminars and plenty of time for Networking.  Details, of the next conference, will be made available on the eMailing list. 

Online Training - A new service for the RSC is the provision of online training and support via online conferencing services. 

Communications

eLearning Helpdesk - The RSC helpdesk is available from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday to assist with any eLearning related issues.  If we cannot answer your query, we will find someone who can!  About the RSC helpdesk.

eMagazine - The eMagazines provide News of funding, current projects, initatives and examples of good practice in eLearning, and offers ideas and support for the HE, FE, ACL, WBL, 6th Form and Specialist College Managers & Practitioners, that are supported by the RSC in the Northwest.  Access the eMagazines .

Newsletters - The "RSC Northwest eLearning Focus" Newsletters, are produced each academic term. The aim of the newsletter is to address the needs of our learning providers and to promote best practice. - Access our Newsletters .

Regional Collaboration - Collaboration meetings, facilitated by the RSC, are between organisations involved with promoting the adoption of eLearning across education. These meetings provide opportunities to discover what these organisations are doing in their support of eLearning as well as sharing news of events and activities.  Regional Collaboration Meeting Minutes.
