Delegates are taken through the installation options of OS X 10.5 (Leopard) configure the default account and examine each of the system preferences. To conclude delegates will be equipped with a number of useful troubleshooting techniques to take away with them.

Course Code TM2 - Tue 16 Feb 2010 morning
This course examines the different levels of user access, managing non-admin accounts whilst minimising the risk of damage to malware or hackers. Delegates will be given the opportunity to re-examine system preferences relating to system security.

THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW FULL
NTI have developed this series of courses (based on Mac OS X 10.5), to meet the needs of education based IT professionals faced with integrating Apple Macintoshes into existing networks and domains.
Course Content
Students will look at integrating Mac clients into an Active Directory domain. This will be followed by a look at the advantages and differences of integrating Macs with Active Directory via OS X server and Open Directory.
Taming the Mac Series - Networking - Full Day
Course Code TM5 - Wed 17 Feb 2010
This course is designed for IT personnel, in an educational environment, who need to add support for Mac users to their skillset.
Course Prerequisites
Attendance on at least Taming the Macintosh 1 and 2 – Installation, Configuration and Security, or equivalent Mac support experience.
Course Objectives
Delegates will be guided through networking basics, on to configuring the Network Preference panes and an introduction to the three in-built troubleshooting tools.

• Networking Basics including; Protocols, DNS, Interfaces and Proxies
• Network Preferences including; Configuring Locations, Services and Proxies
