Outlook 2007: Name Display
To address a new E-mail message I click the To button to display all my contacts. By default, Outlook 2007 displays the names in alphabetical order, by first name. I have many contacts and would prefer to see the list in last name order. Can you help?
Fortunately, it isn’t that difficult to make the switch. To display contacts in family name order, do the following:
- In Mail View, Choose Account Settings... from the Tools menu...

...this will launch the Account Settings Dialog box Wizard.
- Select the Address Books Tab...

- Click Change...

- Select the Contacts lists one by one. Most of you will have just
one item-Contacts: Personal Folders.
Click the File As (Smith, John) option/radio button in the Show names by section for the Contacts list that you want to sort by their last names.

- Click Close and then Finish.

Note: You may have to close and reopen Outlook to see the change.
