View as a Film Strip

IDevice Icon Why isn't this option always available?

"When I open the My Pictures folder, I can select Filmstrip on the View menu to browse through the images. However I have photos and artworks stored in other folders; often, in these folders, Filmstrip isn't in the View menu."

"Is there a way round this?"

You will be pleased to know there is a quick fix...


  • When Filmstrip isn't available in the View drop-down menu...

  • Select the View menu then...
  • Customise This Folder...

  • From the drop-down template list select either...
    • Pictures [best for many files] or
    • Photo Album [best for fewer files]
  • ...in this example I've chosen Pictures (I find this is usually the better option)

  • Click Apply then
  • OK

  • You will now find that Filmstrip is now available for selection in the View Drop-down
