Naace: Social Networking Conference
Stephen Carrick-Davies, Childnet
For many young people Social Networking websites are their world; an amazing, creative, constantly-changing space through which they can project their identities, communicate, explore, and engage with others, often with other children from different countries, cultures and backgrounds. However, we are also sadly seeing how many young people are using it to harass, bully and inflict pain on their peers. Indeed, according to research undertaken by the Anti Bullying Alliance in the UK an estimated 22% of children and young people now purport to have been cyber-bullied by others.
Find out more and listen to Stephen's presentation where he reflects on how we can all respond and prevent this growing trend at http://naaceevents.org/socialnet07/ .
