We currently have, running on Auto-pilot, this month's storyboard of video clips (Looping approximately every 16:37 min) The clips are...

  1. Top Ten Tips for Using Technology in the Classroom (04:04 min)
-This video raises awareness of what is happening in schools; it will take you through José Picardo's top ten tips for using technology in the classroom. Some of the websites and tools mentioned in the video are YouTube, Teachers TV, iTunes, Skype, Hot Potatoes, Game Makers, ContentGenerator, GarageBand, Audacity, Blogs, Wikis, SlideRocket, Facebook, Voki, and Animoto.
"Technology can help motivate you and your pupils and make learning more relevant to them".
  2. Information R/evolution (05:29 min)
    - This video explores the changes in the way we find, store, create, critique, and share information. This video was created as a conversation starter, and works especially well when brainstorming with people about the near future and the skills needed in order to harness, evaluate, and create information effectively.
  3. Soviet Computer URAL2 (01:12 min)
    - How things change. The Univac and IBM 700s weren’t the only mainframe computers around in the late 50s and early 60s. Take a look at this video showing the URAL-2 computer from the Soviet Union, circa 1963..
  4. Creating WAYFless links by Chrissie Turkington (RSC-Northwest eLearning Adviser) (04:48 min)
    - During the last few years, JISC have been promoting the use of Federated Access Management technology across HE and FE which enables easy access to services and resources using the host organisation's user credentials.
There are now a considerable number of organisations across the UK using this technology to access, in the main, the resources available through JISC Collections.
Chrissie Turkington from the RSC Northwest has created this video showing how to create links to resources that minimise user interaction by bypassing the UK Access Management Federation's "Where Are You From Service" (WAYF) and providing a direct link straight to the logon screen of the resource.
By the end of this video you will know how to create a WAYFless link ready for embedding into a library catalogue, website or VLE.
  5. Google Reader in Plain English (01:05 min)
    - How to use Google Reader to read all your favorite news sites and blogs in one place and share news with colleagues, learners, staff etc.
