The Virtual Training Suite
Learners will learn how to save time and improve the quality of their work when searching the Internet for information for coursework, literature reviews or personal research.
Each tutorial enables them to:
- TOUR the best of the Web for their subject
See the sites that can help with their course work. - DISCOVER how to search the Internet effectively
Find the best search tools and techniques. - JUDGE which Web sites are worth using for research
Learn how to avoid common pitfalls on the Internet, by critically evaluating the information they find. - Read SUCCESS stories to inspire them
See some practical examples of how others are using the Internet to support their research and studies.
These are teach-yourself tutorials which can be done at the time and place that suits them. There are quizzes and interactive exercises to lighten the learning and no one is monitoring or marking them.
To work through all the sections of a tutorial will take around an hour, though learners might prefer to do one chunk at a time over more than one sitting, or focus on the sections that are most relevant to them.
