As many of you know, Flickr is an online managment and sharing application. It enables practitioners and learners to organise photographs and send them to colleagues, assessors, verifiers, peers, trainers/teachers/etc. Joining Flickr is free. Professional accounts are also available for those who wish to add and display high volumes of photos; Learning providers may wish to open curriculum accounts.

Learners and practitioners can also do wonderful things with photographs like...

  • creating an ID badge or
  • making a map or
  • making a jigsaw.

Big Huge Labs offer a selction of Flickr toys, games and utilities for learners and practitioners to explore.

Ideal for...

  • learners of all ages;
  • family learning where they can make magazine cover, create a school badge or make an inspirational and motivational poster for classrooms.

Creativity should be a part of learning and we should enable learners to let their creativity flourish by providing them with different contexts for their learning. Flickr is a small part of Web 2.0 which could be used to motivate learners and enable them to work within an environment familiar to them.
