The following one-day JANET Training Courses are due to be held in Aston Multimedia Interactive Research Suite, Birmingham:
Wireless
networks can be a useful complement to a wired network, freeing users from
fixed network connection points and allowing more flexible use of spaces. WiFi
connectivity could allow students to access library resources from a campus
café, or lecturers to discuss and share resources in a common room. A lecture
theatre can become an IT suite, or even a park bench the site for group
work. This course aims to provide organisations and individuals with a
sound overview of wireless networking, an insight into some of the issues of
implementing this type of network and an understanding of how to securely
