YouTube Video in PowerPoint
"There are so many video-clips on YouTube that I would like to embed in PowerPoint Presentations to enhance teaching and learning"
"I'm lucky that my learning provider doesn't block YouTube so, is there a way I can do this? I'm using Office 2007"
There is indeed, just follow the steps below...
- Open PowerPoint as normal and move to the slide in which you want to embed the YouTube Video.
- You will need to access the Developer Tab...
- If it isn't visible...
Click the Office Button...

At the bottom of the menu that appears click the PowerPoint Options Button...

Make sure that there is a green tick in the check-box against Show Developer tab in the Ribbon

Click the OK Button - If it is visible, continue...
- If it isn't visible...
- Select the Developer Tab
- Click on the More Controls icon...

- In the dialog box that appears Scroll down and select Shockwave Flash Object

Click OK
- Use the cursor, that will change to cross-wires, to click-n-drag a rectangle in which you want the video to appear...

- Right-click the resulting rectangle with the cross and select Properties from the menu that appears...

- In the Properties window that appears, locate the Movie Field and paste in the URL of the movie you wish to embed...

- Carefully remove the watch? text and replace the = with a /

- Close the Properties Window (there isn't an OK button just click the small cross in the Properties window header
- Show the slide as usual

- The video will, assuming you are online and YouTube isn't blocked at the venue, will appear and can be played...
