Link To A Specific Point In A YouTube Video
"There are many videos, on YouTube, that I use in teaching and learning. However the part of the clip I want to use is often part way through. Is there an easy way to start a clip where I want it to start?"
There are 2 options... by making a small change in the YouTube video URL, you can actually link to a specific point of that video.
- To the end of the video URL, just add #t=5m29s, where ‘m’ is minutes and 's' is seconds and you get to the part of the video which is 5 minutes and 29 seconds from the start. Just change the minutes and seconds to start the video where you want it to start.
So, for example, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YL3PtlxYkZ4 becomes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YL3PtlxYkZ4#t=5m29s
It’s a simple change to be a made but for those who don’t know or have to make changes to multiple videos and don’t want to do it manually, they can...
. - visit YouTubeTime, a free online application which does the code change for you. Note: The video can be previewed before sharing it with someone.
