Audio Options
1: Recording sound or not?
There are occasions when it isn't appropriate to record any sound at all and equally there are other occasions when recording sound is important and will enhance the end product.
- Using the Options menu select...
- Do not record audio OR
- Record audio from microphone
Note: the small black tick, that can be seen above next to Record audio from microphone, indicates the current selection.
2: If you are recording sound - It is important, especially if using a laptop with a built-in microphone, to ensure the appropriate microphone is used and where to alter the volume settings.
To check/change the audio options...
- Open the Options Menu and select Audio Options, a further menu appears, select Audio Options for Microphone, as shown here...
- The Audio Options for Microphone dialog box opens...

In the Audio Capture Device section, use the drop-down menu to select the 'sound card' (for most users there isn't any other options) or preferred Audio Capture Device. Note: for most users the default will be left.
. - Select the Volume Button as shown in the image above.

Note: the image shows that the Internal Mic is selected as the Audio Capture Device
If an External Mic is being used (Connected to the sound card) make sure, in the External Mic section, the Select checkbox is checked as shown here...

Close the dialog box when the changes have been made...

. - Other settings in the Audio Options for Microphone dialog box can be left as they are.

when the changes have been made, click the OK button
