When I was teaching science my learners were directed towards Scientific American; it is highlighted in schools, further education and public libraries. I've revisited the on-line offering and discovered the Scientific American podcasts.

There are four series of podcasts created by Scientific American...

• 60 Second Science,
• 60 Second Psych,
• 60 Second Earth, and
• a set of longer podcasts (timewise) called Science Talk.

The podcasts can be downloaded and used in teaching and learning, when appropriate; they could be an appropriate educational, interesting, and entertaining way to start a science session. Learners may hear something that they want to explore further.
