Editing Tools: Recording - Playback
How to use Audacity to make a recording...
Use this toolbar...
Tip: When recording always wait a couple of seconds after starting, before talking/playing/singing/etc., and a further couple of seconds after you have finished before you stop recording.
Recording...
- When you are ready to start recording click the Record button as shown below...
(remember the Tip above) - Talk/play/sing/etc and when finished (wait a couple of seconds) click the Stop button...

Note: the resulting recording will look something like the image below...
Listening to the recording...
- Click the Play button...

Note: Users can Pause the playback at any time by clicking the Pause Button...
Clicking the Pause button a second tim, will resume the playback. - To stop the playbac, before the end, click the stop Button...

Listening to a continuous loop playback of the recording...
- Hold down the Shift Key on your keyboard (Note the change of symbol on the Play Button) and click the Play Button...

Moving the 'Play Head' to the start of the recording or to the end of the recording...
- To move the 'Play Head' to the start, click the Skip to the Start button...

- To move the 'Play Head' to the end, click the Skip to the End button...
