A person talking on the radio

To change a recorded voice so that it sounds like a person talking on the radio...

  • Using Audacity, open the Recorded voice you wish to change

  • Move the mouse over the 'grey control section' at the start of the track, as shown here...

    ...and left-click...

    This is the quick way to select all of this track; the following image shows the result... Image showing the whole track selected
    Note:
    the change in colour showing the track has been selected.
  • Click on the Effect Menu and then select Amplify

  • Click OK

  • Click on the Effect Menu and then FFT Filter...

  • Click on the top 12dB line at the 5000 Hz point and then on the bottom -12dB line around 10000 Hz (this should create a diagonal line across the filter as shown below)

  • Click OK
  • Click on the Effect Menu and then High Pass Filter...

  • Change the Cutoff Frequency to 2000

  • Click OK (The next steps are a repeat of earlier actions)
  • Click on the Effect Menu and then FFT Filter...

  • Click on the Effect Menu and then High Pass Filter...

  • Change the Cutoff Frequency to 2000

  • Click OK
