A demonic spirit

To change a recorded voice so that it sounds like a demonic spirit...

  • Using Audacity, open the Recorded voice you wish to change

  • Move the mouse over the 'grey control section' at the start of the track, as shown here...

    ...and left-click...

    This is the quick way to select all of this track; the following image shows the result... Image showing the whole track selected
    Note:
    the change in colour showing the track has been selected.
  • Either: Click on the Edit Menu and then select Duplicate

    OR use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + D.
    Which ever you choose a second duplicated track will appear, like this...

  • Click in the Work space to clear the selections from both tracks
    Note the change of colour again...

  • Highlight the first track again then...
  • Click on the Edit Menu and then select Duplicate OR use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + D
    This will produce the third track required...
    Remember to clear the selection by clicking in the 'workspace'

The next step is to alter the pitch of the second track...
  • Highlight the second track (see above if you have forgotten how to select a track)
  • Click on the Effect Menu and then select Change Pitch...

  • Change the Semitone (half-steps) to -1

  • Click OK
The next step is to alter the pitch and Base Boost of the third track...
  • Highlight the third track
  • Click on the Effect Menu and then select Change Pitch...
  • Change the Semitone (half-steps) to -5

  • Click OK
  • Click on the Effect Menu and then Bass Boost...

    Click OK
The next step is to alter the gain slide of the third track...
  • Drag the Gain slide on the left of the third track to +3DB

The final step is to alter the echo of the second track...
  • Highlight the second track
  • Click on the Effect Menu and then Echo...

  • Change the Delay time (seconds) to 0.1 and...
    Change the Decay factor to 0.6

  • Click OK
Export the end product as an mp3. Example of the 'changed voice' - Demonic enough for you?
