Optimize Firefox for Slow Connections
"At many venues we use for teaching and learning, the internet connection is very slow; practitioners and learners are finding this very frustrating. Is there anything we can do to relieve their stress?"
"We use FireFox as our browser and repeatedly get an 'unresponsive script' warning"
Yes, I think there is...
The following tip-n-trick might relieve your stress.
Note: - By default a script is only given 10 seconds to respond before it gives an unresponsive script warning; you can increase the script responce time by doing the following...
- Open FireFox
. - In the address window type 'about:config' (without the quote marks) and type the enter key

. - The following warning will appear...

...Click the I'll be careful, I promise! button
. - Scroll down the list and locate the Dom.max_script_run_time as shown below...

. - right click and a menu will appear as shown below...

Click Modify
. - A dialog box opens where you can change the default value from 10...

...to an appropriate time (in this example 30)

. - Click the OK button when the change has been made.
