THE RSC NORTHWEST ARE OFFERING SPONSORSHIP FOR 14 PLACES ON THE NOVEMBER ENROLMENT OF THE LETTOL COURSE.

What is LeTTOL?

LeTTOL stands for Learning to Teach Online and it has been delivered since 1997 to in excess of 2000 learners. It is a FENTO-verified award winning course that helps participants gain the skills needed to develop and deliver online courses of all kinds. It can help you make the Internet a powerful, flexible and accessible way to learn. Full details are available
at: http://www.lettol.ac.uk

Can I apply?

  • Sponsorship is open to any individual employed within a supported learning provider. The full list can be found here: http://www.rsc-northwest.ac.uk/about/institutions.asp
  • A condition of sponsorship will be to attend 3 support meetings – one prior to course commencement, once during the course and again at the end of the course
  • Success in obtaining sponsorship would also depend on participation in a regional best practice event and/or the RSC NW Annual Conference 2007.
  • Successful applicants must confirm their willingness to participate in a regional event and/or the RSC NW Annual Conference 2007
  • Candidates must agree to reimburse the RSC the full cost of the course (£375) if they fail to complete, or withdraw prior to the end of the course

Commitment Required

  • The entire LeTTOL course takes place online with full tutor support by email, so you learn at times and in places that suit you.
  • Throughout the course you will be supported by an RSC Adviser.
  • You must ensure that you have easily accessible access to an internet connection.
  • You will study for around 6-7 hours each week, and the course duration is 23 weeks including 'breather' weeks.
  • The course commences on the 23rd November.
  • You will be required to self-enrol following discussions with the RSC team before the 31st October.

The RSC would strongly advise negotiating teaching remission, if appropriate, for successful applicants for the duration of the course.

Selection Criteria

  • Sponsorships will be allocated proportionally across the sectors and Learning Providers that the RSC supports within the NW region:
    • 1 place for HE Institutions,
    • 9 places for FE and Sixth Form Colleges,
